Happy weekend everyone!
If you are looking for a quick DIY project, you’ve come to the right place. I think this project took me about 20 minutes and it’s so cute!
First you need a doormat. I purchased mine at At Home, formerly Garden Ridge. If you have an At Home near you and you’ve never been…GO, LIKE NOW! They have everything and it’s cute stuff!
I wanted to do this project with a coir doormat but it was actually hard to find a plain one. When I finally found one at Home Depot, it was ripped. Wahhh!
The doormat was the only thing I purchased for this project. I printed off the Texas template and I already had paint and a brush.
After cutting out the template I taped it to the middle of my doormat. Since the mat is bumpy the template does not lay flat. This can be tricky, but Iv’e got a trick myself! If you want to make sure you don’t get paint outside of your template line, start your paintbrush on the paper and gently move inwards. Once you have your outline started you can take the template off and fill in the rest.
That’s all folks.
I will be making a few of these in the near future for housewarming gifts! ♥
